Being a professional in education, many elements come into place when thinking about what the kids need, or what is lacking. I realize that kids need extra support and parents are willing to provide. The problem comes when parents ask themselves, "Where do I start?". No matter how educated parents are, it is not the same knowing as know how. What I mean here is that parent may know the concepts but lack the understanding of how transmit those concepts. There is where educators take action. These processes normally are supposed to happen in the school environment, however with so much testing, down time and disruption, instruction and practice are reduced to a very short time, leaving concept unclear. That is when I decided to take action and offer to my community that extra help kids need. For instance, what a concept may require be taught during a week in school, a private class can bring it down to one or two sessions. That is the beauty of the extra support.
